I originally went with the same name but have been using this one now since it’s new and the idea of starting fresh appeals to me.
My initial thought was to reuse my existing name so others who already knew me might see that I’m here since we never communicated outside of the given subs we were apart of. I’m not sure how likely that would actually be though. It’s not as if I was anyone popular or well known. So, my thinking is I’ll stick with my new one and move on.
What have you chosen to do? Start fresh or carry your username over?

Same. I’ve been justinh_tx for 20 years or more on just about every site/service that let’s you have an underscore in your username. If I can’t have an underscore I’m justinh512tx.

You use the text box at the bottom of the page for replying to a thread.
The comment box is at the bottom of the stack of comments, so you have to scroll to almost the entire bottom of the page to start a parent comment.

New one. And i had an extremely scientific observational method for coming up with it.

New one. My 13 year old account has a stupid name and got banned for absolutely nothing.
It was a chance to get the username I wanted. More importantly, I’m loving the more free use of profile pictures. I can actually recognise people visually now instead of everyone looking like much the same snoo.
Completely new name, I had like, 10 reddit accounts, I’d make a new one every year to avoid anyone potentially stalking me
New username, I saw that the name of the protagonist from one of my favorite books was available and so I POUNCED on it :)
New. I didn’t need to consult some name generator this time to find something I liked. I thought about getting something crude but I’m going to be using this account for quite a while so I chose this.
Same one, I use this username on way more platforms than just reddit so why change!
