Let me explain a bit more, I usually buy vaulted primes off of the warframe market, on xbox [the console I play on] she runs for about 250p on average. I am trying to get Mesa and Titania prime, so I was wondering if I should just put off those 2 and go for Saryn Prime, or if I can still make Saryn into a nuke, it’ll just take a bit more effort, and probably a bit more forma.

The prime versions aren’t generally a massive increase in power, the base saryn can wreck everything too. It’s just that people don’t like investing too many forma into something that they will discard later in favor of the prime version.

So I’d say it is your decision to make whether you want to wait for the prime one or not. Note that they have separate mastery xp so you’ll want to level both of them up to 30 eventually. There is also a game system later that will reward you if you keep the base saryn so don’t sell her off once you get the prime version (this goes for other frames too).

So personally I’d level the base saryn to 30, give it a try and see if I like the playstyle, and then get the prime one if I can afford it and if i want it, while saving the base saryn for something spoilerish that will unlock later on in the story.

This is the worst part of warframe for me, short of much newer frame, i will not spend a cent on something ill trash, you are effectively burning like 100 plat, more than the cost of entire prime frames sometimes

I was about to write a spoiler. Good thing I saw this.

OP, just like what he said, you’ll want to make sure you have a spare for later on in the game. I recommend getting a prime version of frames (if available) and keep the OG since in my experience they’re easy to get and you can buy parts with plat.

  • The only advantage primes have is the polarities to save you a few forma and looks. The stat increases might as well not exist, 25 armor or life or shield and the death cube interaction means nothing on 99% of tilesets.

    • On frames who care about their HP and armor and mod for it, like Nidus, or like shields on Hildryn, the increases are to base stats which mean they will get multiplied by percent increases. So in select few cases, I’d say less than ten of the existing primes the survivability stat increases do matter. But I agree they don’t for the rest of them.
