It’s a case of a transvestigator sort of idiot who had no idea what they were talking about (I know, I repeat myself) and another case where someone was killed after defending a trans friend from some idiot bigot.
If you could read or follow links you wouldn’t be that suspicious of these stories. And honestly, these are starting to become commonplace as bigots are encouraged by a certain political party, so there’s even less reason to be suspicious of these sorts of crimes.
