Okay. If you could play any videogame again for the first time, what would it be?
dipbeneaththelasers ( @dipbeneaththelasers@kbin.social ) 27•2 years agoOuter Wilds. A lot of games have a high level of replayability, but your first playthrough of Outer Wilds is something you never get back.
Snowfall ( @Snowfall@kbin.social ) 4•2 years agoThat’s one of those that I really gotta finish. I just wish the mouse and keyboard controls were a little better.
HunnyBadger ( @HunnyBadger@kbin.social ) 3•2 years agoMy buddy gifted me this game so he could experience my first playthrough as well.
bee ( @bee@kbin.social ) 3•2 years agoThis is the answer, and for anyone who hasn’t played Outer Wilds it’s still their answer and they just don’t know it yet.
flame ( @flame@kbin.social ) 1•2 years agoIf anyone hasn’t played it and has a VR headset, please play it in VR. Absolutely phenomenal experience.
private_ruffles ( @private_ruffles@kbin.social ) 14•2 years agoMass Effect 1.
The first encounter with the Reapers, with Sovereign, is such an incredible moment. These horrifying, unkillable deities that can’t be reasoned with or stopped that just want to destroy was so intimidating on the first playthrough.
The reveal about the mass relays and how they guided tech advancement was incredible too.You exist because we allow it. You will end because we demand it.
VitulusAureus ( @VitulusAureus@kbin.social ) 4•2 years agoSame here. The story and presentation are so sublime. ME universe is was designed so comprehensively and coherently it left me awestruck on many times throughout the first playthrough.
And the sequel is just a cherry on top, drawing from the now-estabilished world, themes, interstellar politics, all to build one absolutely epic finale. No other game managed to engage me so much.
Brome ( @Brome@kbin.social ) 13•2 years agoPortal.
I’ll never forget the day I started playing this game. It was so cool and so different from anything else I had played that I couldn’t stop playing, and finished the game in one session. Awesome night!
Hugo ( @Hugo@kbin.social ) 13•2 years agoUltima Online maybe.
Yewb ( @Yewb@kbin.social ) 5•2 years agoIm with you uo was magical
Anissem ( @Anissem@kbin.social ) 3•2 years agoOh god I loved that game. As an MMO, it had to learn so many hard lessons since it was so new and different
SunburyStudios ( @SunburyStudios@kbin.social ) 2•2 years agoMan… That was such a trip. A friend of mine brought it over because my computer was much better and I had a 3rd party ISP lightning fast 56k connection. It was so crazy just to see the little world. I still log into the private servers every few years just to see some of the new tech fans are throwing on top of it.
Talaraine ( @Talaraine@kbin.social ) 9•2 years agoThe Mass Effect Trilogy, no hesitation
HydratedSquid ( @HydratedSquid@kbin.social ) 3•2 years agoBest answer
CynAq ( @CynAq@kbin.social ) 8•2 years agoHalf-Life, hands down.

resketreke ( @resketreke@kbin.social ) 6•2 years agoI’m going to say 3: Final Fantasy VII, Resident Evil and Subnautica.
iamtheone ( @iamtheone@kbin.social ) 3•2 years agoFFVII and Resident Evil! Nice picks!
AyeSiwmae ( @AyeSiwmae@kbin.social ) 5•2 years agoSubnautica, easiest answer for me!
eltimablo ( @eltimablo@kbin.social ) 5•2 years agoOblivion. As much shit as it gets, I think it’s still the best Elder Scrolls game to date, with Morrowind as a close second.
Jojo-Mcfrost572 ( @Jojo-Mcfrost572@kbin.social ) 2•2 years agoAgree. First elder scrolls. I prefer oblivion to Skyrim. It was Soo buggy but so good. I just preferred the vibe. It was more fun and less serious.
InterSynth ( @InterSynth@kbin.social ) 5•2 years agoProbably Deus Ex.
iAmTheTot ( @iAmTheTot@kbin.social ) 5•2 years agoThe Last of Us 1 & 2
BigJilm ( @BigJilm@kbin.social ) 5•2 years agoEasy, the game that started it all for me - Zork.
Pankakke ( @Pankakke@kbin.social ) 4•2 years agoHalo 3 back in its heyday without question. The hours and hours spent grinding ranks in playlists and playing custom games is some of the best times I’ve ever had in gaming.
