Rd2 and then Rh2 or Rh3 depending on how black moves.
I’m not too familiar with chess notation so hope I got that right
Correct, avoiding the stalemate trap and opening the door for the rook on a3 to swing over and deliver mate with a beautiful sacrifice.

Still not mate in 2:
Rd2 - Qxe4
Rh2 - Qh4
Rxh4#If the queen leaves the backrank, you can take the bishop with checkmate: Rd2 - Qxe4 - Rxd8# :)

If pawn takes the rook on d2, then the other rook goes to h3 for mate

Rxc3, then either Rh3 or Rxd8, depending on Black’s next move.

Qa1+ refutes for 2 moves

I could find only Re3, but I’m unsure. Anyway, It is a mate in 3, not 2
- Akasazh ( @Akasazh@feddit.nl ) 2•1 year ago
Not sure how either rook would reach e3?
- Responsabilidade ( @BaalInvoker@lemmy.eco.br ) 2•1 year ago
Lol
I was thinking Re7!
I was distracted cause I’m on the road
- Akasazh ( @Akasazh@feddit.nl ) 2•1 year ago
Re7 is interesting, but Bxe7 Rxa8 Bd/f8 is not mate in 2 like you said
- Responsabilidade ( @BaalInvoker@lemmy.eco.br ) 2•1 year ago
Yes, I know. At least 3 moves
I said that at the original comment
- Akasazh ( @Akasazh@feddit.nl ) 2•1 year ago
Yeah I just saw, just edited my own
