I think it’s the same problem as youtube. Words like rape and pedophile lowers ad value on the article.

Aw man, I didn’t notice until you pointed it out. Why is news media always so reluctant to say rape even when the rapist has been convicted?

IMO, we need different words, just like we have different terms for murder (first degree second degree, manslaughter, etc). To me “rape” means “dragged violently into an alley and forcefully peenetrated”, not the myriad of other circumstances of questionable/lack of consent.
