The 256GB and 512GB Steam Decks come with some digital rewards, such as an exclusive steam profile customization bundle and a unique virtual keyboard (keyboard is 512GB only). Previously these rewards were not available to refurbished deck buyers, but Valve plans to change that and make these rewards available regardless of whether you buy new or refurbished.
Chimaeratorian ( @Chimaeratorian@beehaw.org ) English46•2 years agoAs a day one buyer, I’m happy about this. Exclusives for people who buy early or pay a premium are silly. I just happened to be fortunate and lucky enough to get my Deck earlier, but the more the merrier.
AtomicOrange ( @AtomicOrange@beehaw.org ) English9•2 years agoI just wish the refurbs weren’t sold out!
Might call around to your local GameStop’s and see if they have any in stock. I think they dropped the requirement to be a GameStop pro member(or whatever it’s called) to buy one there.
worfamerryman ( @worfamerryman@beehaw.org ) English1•2 years agoI just wish it was even an option in my country. If I’m a little ahead on bills this month, I think I’ll pick up the base model.
I’ll just add a ssd for canabalize my 2016 MacBook Pro for the ssd. Im pretty sure it’s compatible.
Until then, I’ll use my 512microsd card.
entropicdrift ( @entropicdrift@lemmy.sdf.org ) 2•2 years agoEven if your MacBook Pro has a removable SSD, it’s probably too long for a Steam Deck. You need it to be in the 2230 form factor
worfamerryman ( @worfamerryman@beehaw.org ) English1•2 years agoThe 2016 MacBook Pro does not use the standard size ssd. I’ll double check, but Im pretty sure it’s the correct size.
