(only recently federated so sorry if this has been asked billions of times)
What’s the best RSS reader for android?
My criteria are:
- Material 3 design
- FOSS
Cyborganism ( @cyborganism@lemmy.ca ) English5•2 years agoI’m using Feeder for Android. It’s open source (Gitlab) and free as in beer.
Looks pretty good! Not the best design imo though. Will use this until I find a better alternative.
NightOwl ( @NightOwl@lemmy.one ) English2•2 years agoI liked it once I set the article style to super compact. Block list is really nice too if you have a rss that throws in unrelated material from time to time like ads disguised as articles.
Cyborganism ( @cyborganism@lemmy.ca ) English2•2 years agoI think it’s worth giving it a chance.
arke ( @arke@programming.dev ) English5•2 years agoAnother option is Read You. Good design in general.
I went on a long search for the ideal reader, but ended up settling on using Mastodon as the feed reader instead.
That looks really good! Also has the option to import from opml which I needed.
portside ( @portside@monyet.cc ) English1•2 years agoI came here to suggest Read You
ijeff ( @ijeff@lemdro.id ) English1•2 years agoThis looks fantastic. Thanks for the recommendation!
Otter ( @otter@lemmy.ca ) English2•2 years agoAny that sync with other devices? I’m looking to set up a self hosted option, but I’ll see what else there is :)
zeus ∽↯∼ ( @Zeus@lemm.ee ) English1•2 years agoi personally like feedme - it’s not m3 as asked in the op, but it’s the most feature-filled android client that i could find, that syncs with inoreader
jmbmkn ( @jmbmkn@beehaw.org ) English1•2 years agoAfter a few attempts with different apps I’ve found Nextcloud News works well for me and it syncs to my self hosted Nextcloud server. Which I can also sync with desktop apps.
TheMadnessKing ( @TheMadnessKing@lemdro.id ) English1•2 years agoWell not FOSS, but pluma is good. If you need something very robust then Inoreader gets job done as it’s cross-platform.
