In an interview, the developers of the upcoming Lords of the Fallen talked about how concerned they are about the abundance of games in the genre.
blazera ( @blazera@kbin.social ) 4•10 months agoI wish developers took genre as gameplay elements and not entirely mimicing settings and tone and themes along with the gameplay. Lots of people were hoping AC6 could be a soulslike in a different setting, because no ones doing it.
TwilightVulpine ( @TwilightVulpine@kbin.social ) 5•10 months agoI don’t like soulslikes and how everything has to be a soulslike these days, but maybe I’d be more willing to try if they weren’t all so bleak.
Gordon_Freeman ( @Gordon_Freeman@kbin.social ) 2•10 months agoIt takes a lot to make a soulslike
But when it comes to me and you
And him, and her, and the baby too
Too many soulslike, it’s trueToo many soulslike
Too many soulslike
… gk99 ( @gk99@beehaw.org ) 1•10 months agoLOTF is unique in that it’ll supposedly have co-op that isn’t ass, so that’s a pretty good selling point.
ampersandrew ( @ampersandrew@kbin.social ) 1•10 months agoAnd yet they’ll still have invasions. Is it so much to ask to take that formula, with co-op that works from a damn menu, without invasions?
