It’s like they are trying to irritate people into canceling their accounts.

Imo, this one might actually be worse than the account sharing and cause people to quit. As soon as you have people messing around with their subscription version, it’s all too easy to just say “nah, I actually don’t want this anymore”.

  • my first lemmy post and it’s to bitch about netflix

We switched from the Premium plan to the Basic plan last month when they started enforcing the IP sharing thing. Looks like we did it just in time. If they get rid of this, guess it’s back to pirating.

  • I cancelled when they announced they were cracking down on password sharing and I haven’t missed it. Every other service, I pay for the amount of screens and I can use that amount simultaneously anywhere. I don’t understand why Netflix insists on being so difficult about it. I’m not spending $24/month just so I can get 4K resolution and not allow anyone else to use the 3 other screens included in that plan.

    • What’s frustrating for me is I actually like Netflix. It has most of the shows I like, I haven’t found another streaming service that I will regularly watch. I like their interface and recommendation system as well. I just like Netflix. I want to give them my money and I don’t understand why they’re making it hard for me to do so.

  • We currently share our premium account with our family but they haven’t clamped down yet. I’m not sure why. They might think we have 3 houses?

The price is decent between all of us though.
