Mrgruesomel ( @Mrgruesomel@lemmy.zip ) English5•9 months agoOnly movie I watched was Barbie which was pretty good. I can appreciate how the message hits a chord with so many people. As a film though it felt like there were some poor editing choices but overall fun
simple ( @simple@lemm.ee ) English4•9 months agoI finally got around to watching They Cloned Tyrone and thought it was pretty fun. Everything about it felt like an early 2000’s movie, in a good way. Jamie Foxx killed it.
And don’t watch the trailers. I checked out the trailer after watching the movie and it straight up spoils the entire movie.
Redoomed ( @Redoomed@lemm.ee ) English3•9 months agoI watched The Maltese Falcon (1941) for the first time yesterday. The story is super engaging and Humphrey Bogart absolutely crushes it as Sam Spade.

I did not know what to expect going in to this one. 10 minutes in I was thinking it would be unbearable. 20 minutes in and I was laughing. It somehow gets weirder and funnier all the way through. And when I say weird, it’s like Eraserhead level weird.
davefischer ( @davefischer@beehaw.org ) English1•9 months agoThat’s a weird one. Same director as Cafe Flesh.
Nundrum ( @Nundrum@yall.theatl.social ) English2•9 months agoCafe Flesh? 🤨 Oh dear.
Mr_Blott ( @Mr_Blott@feddit.uk ) English2•9 months agoOne of my favourite films is the 1965 Flight of the Phoenix. Last night I discovered it was remade in 2004 so I downloaded it.
It was actually fuckin excellent and a brilliant remake. Would recommend it to anyone who loves an adventure
