PlantDna ( @PlantDna@mander.xyz ) 7•1 year agoThat’s a male flower. On female flowers you will see a small zucchini attached to the flower.
Oh… Do they not bloom at the same time?
NataliePortland ( @admin@thegarden.land ) 4•1 year agoYes but it’s common for the first few to be male, then you will get a mix of male and female. Plant looks great I think you’re going to get great zucchinis. Just keep them away from me I don’t like zucchini 😆
PlantDna ( @PlantDna@mander.xyz ) 3•1 year agoI agree that a few males bloom first. Not the I don’t like them part 🙂
jbz ( @jbz@slrpnk.net ) 2•1 year agoSometime they can bloom with a little offset on the same plant.
That’s why it’s good to have a few plants to create interactions between them.
Female flowers can also be fertilised by hand.
Auriel ( @Auriel@beehaw.org ) 1•1 year agoHey, did you have zucchini grow in the meantime? For me it looked like it but then they are still tiny and stopped growing. Not sure what I am doing wrong
Yes indeed. One zucchini that is about 20cm long and 4cm in diameter. Sorry to hear. My cucumber plant had one really good fruit but after that nothing.
