I was unsatisfied with the lack of decent keyboard phones for a decent price on the market, so I made one myself.
It’s all open source.
of course you’re running xfce on your phone lol
All jokes aside, this is a very cool idea!
Tbh, the xfce part was a bit of a joke as well. I hardly ever use that. It’s setup in a chroot environment, so that I can start it inside of Android. I can use the shell using the Terminal Emulator app and the GUI using VNC, ao it doesn’t replace Android.
I just use it when I need access to something that works better (or at all) on Linux. Kinda how you’d use WSL on Windows.

That is pretty cool! I also miss the feel of the old chiclet keyboards.
How securely does it stay attached? Would be cool to add a hinge mechanism so it could fold over and protect the screen.

It looks neat. I miss keyboard phones, particularly my Blackberry. It may be due to my varifocals but I have issues hitting the correct keys with an on-screen touch keyboard.

Wow! Where did you get the actual keyboard?
It’s a Blackberry Q10 spare keyboard. They are available on many places on the internet (ebay, Aliexpress, some smaller shops) for ~€5 per piece.
