When I read the title, I read “data”. And after I read the meme, I read “data”.

I do the same. At work, if I say data multiple times in the same conversation, I keep alternating the pronunciation. I wonder if my coworkers think I know some special grammatical rule that they never learned.
The real universe brains are the ones who use plural pronouns when referring to data.
