Guys!! My other half won Powerball! He split the winnings with me and now I’m $10 richer. Drinks are on me!
- Outlier1031 ( @Outlier1031@aussie.zone ) 8•11 months ago
I remember when I was about 10 years old, my mum gave me one of her scratchies and I won $20 bucks! I felt like a millionaire. I remember spending my winnings on a Monsters in my Pocket collectors set which had all the monsters in it. One of the best days of my life.
- anotherspringchicken ( @anotherspringchicken@aussie.zone ) 5•11 months ago
How cool is that?! $20 is a lot when you’re 10.

Hello, I am alive. Still. Heheheh
I am still trying to log in on my phone (jerboa app and chrome mobile browser), but I am not getting a reset password link. I also cannot reset my password on PC (where I am typing this from) without remembering my old password… which wouldn’t be necessary if I could remember my old password haha. I will keep trying, but if I am unable to reset my password so I can log in on my phone, I may set up a new, even more starchy, account.
Anyway, I am currently working from home, smashed out a busy day today, never once looked at my phone until after work, when I saw I was summoned by my good friend PeelerSheila :D <3
I will be available tonight on my PC :) I may need to work tomorrow, to help a colleague so I won’t be able to reply tomorrow (I need my monitors for work lol), but I am here now my fellow DTers, my favourite people. I truly love you all
Edit: sorry if my tone is off, im kinda still in work mode bleeeeheheeheheheheehe lol
- Bacon ( @baconmash@aussie.zone ) 9•11 months ago

My daughter found an photo (hard copy) of my old old cat from when he was a kitten.
From memory this photo is exactly 30 years old.
Photo of a black and white kitten
- Bottom_racer ( @Bottom_racer@aussie.zone ) 8•11 months ago
Kitty has seen some shit…
- MeanElevator ( @MeanElevator@aussie.zone ) English9•11 months ago
Later in his life he was missing a chunk of his ear and hospitalised a German Shepherd.
This was just first impressions.
- just_kitten ( @just_kitten@aussie.zone ) 8•11 months ago
Oh lord, that basically looks like a meme and not a kitten
- MeanElevator ( @MeanElevator@aussie.zone ) English6•11 months ago
Might have been his first day with us. Very intimidated but settled in quickly.
- Eagle ( @Eagle@aussie.zone ) 8•11 months ago
The eyes! Surely this is a toy!
- MeanElevator ( @MeanElevator@aussie.zone ) English6•11 months ago
100% real. He was probably 4 or 5 weeks old in this

I can’t do a fang photo as she is fangless, so I have to go with cute instead.

Tonight I introduced the man to one of my favourite snacks. His beady little eyes lit up.
That is buttered simit, peanut butter and a cheese to cleanse the palate.
His words were “omg omg omg” (more than once) “I think you’re on to something” and “I need to buy some peanut butter to take to work”.
- useless_modern_god ( @useless_modern_god@aussie.zone ) 4•11 months ago
Well that looks effective
- CEOofmyhouse56 ( @CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone ) 6•11 months ago
3 simits for $4. Ash cheese from aldi $4.50. Butter and peanut butter. A relatively cheap and full filling snack.
- fullkitwanker ( @fullkitwanker@aussie.zone ) 3•11 months ago

- Rusty Raven ( @RustyRaven@aussie.zone ) 10•11 months ago
I just impulse bought a large bar fridge. It is red.
- CEOofmyhouse56 ( @CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone ) 2•11 months ago
Bar fridge? Nah beer fridge.
- Rusty Raven ( @RustyRaven@aussie.zone ) 2•11 months ago
As I don’t drink beer that seems like it would be a bad selection for me to put in it.
- CEOofmyhouse56 ( @CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone ) 2•11 months ago
I always knew them as a beer fridge. I think someone came along and said “No. That’s too bogan. We’ll call it a bar fridge”. Hahaha.
- Rusty Raven ( @RustyRaven@aussie.zone ) 8•11 months ago
I always think of a beer fridge as being the old fridge that was still running when you upgraded, so it got moved to the garage and used for beer. Whereas a bar fridge is a tiny little fridge you buy with the intention of storing beer in, then discover the shelves are all the wrong heights to store most drink bottles and you can’t fit enough in to manage even a small party, so you end up using the sink full of ice anyway. Although it was surprisingly acceptable as the only refrigeration I had when I first moved out of home.
- calhoon2005 ( @calhoon2005@aussie.zone ) 1•11 months ago
You should store your tequila in there. Tequila is lovely when it’s chilled.
- Rusty Raven ( @RustyRaven@aussie.zone ) 1•11 months ago
The only alcohol I have is some Chinese cooking wine, which won’t benefit much from refrigeration.
- Catfish ( @6368_39162@lemm.ee ) 1•11 months ago
And curvy too I hope
- Alamutjones ( @Alamutjones@aussie.zone ) 9•11 months ago

Only meal I ate today: rice with furikake, soy sauce, fishy olive oil and hot sauce, with soft fried eggs, and Portuguese sardines.

this is roe lol
- Baku ( @Baku@aussie.zone ) English9•11 months ago
Sooo a doordash driver either stole or forgot to deliver my drink and apparently doordash support is worse than basically anything else I’ve ever seen
“Please allow me a moment to transfer you to the correct department”
“Your chat had been disconnected. Thanks for using doordash! How do you rate this conversation?”
Edit: after several escalations (9 transfers!) Old mate Kimberly told me I’ll receive a refund of $11.50 in 5-7 business days, even though nothing in my order was $11.50 and that’s certainly more than a bottle of coke, then said ““have a nice day”” (she quoted have a nice day) and disconnected

Anyone else here given blood and not been able to fill the bag? I gave blood and followed the normal procedures (like drinking all of the water, having snacks beforehand etc.,) and yet I couldn’t completely fill the bag. It got close but the flow pretty much dwindled down to drops. Normally my body freely gives blood but this time around it was like “nah bruv, that’s as much as I’m willing to part with”.
- anotherspringchicken ( @anotherspringchicken@aussie.zone ) 4•11 months ago
Maybe your body just needs its blood atm?
I keep meaning to go & give blood, but I’m a bit phobic about needles, so it can be hard for them to get blood out (stress seems to equal reduced flow)
- jaybb3rw0cky ( @jaybb3rw0cky@aussie.zone ) 3•11 months ago
Maybe. I think from memory they’ve used the same vein for the last few appointments and I’m wondering whether that’s part of it too. But I have also been pretty stressed/burnt out so that could be it as well.
My wife is the same about being phobic towards needles. She’d love to give blood but needles are just something she can’t handle. Sounds like though you’ve been able to at least get to a point where you’ve donated before, albeit with a bit of trouble?
- anotherspringchicken ( @anotherspringchicken@aussie.zone ) 1•11 months ago
I did try once, but got faint and they had to stop. I really should have another go. Nurses have commented about the stress/flow thing during blood tests before, and it does make sense - your body would be preserving its resources.
If the needle stick pain bothers your wife, I’ve found Emla cream handy to numb the spot. Having one less thing to stress over makes it a little easier for me, at least.
- Nath ( @Nath@aussie.zone ) 2•11 months ago
Being the stats nut, I try to beat my “personal best” time on filling the bag. Just like my runs though, present-day me can’t compete with 30-years-ago me. In my prime, I could fill that bag in just over 4 minutes. These days, I’m happy if its under 5 minutes.
