Party’s over. Apple TV+ has pulled the plug on its murder mystery comedy series “The Afterparty” after two seasons, Variety has confirmed.
“We would love to do a Season 3, not only because we have lots of great ideas, but also because that would mean that the AMPTP would have given a fair deal to the writers and we could all be back to work,” Miller told Variety, speaking as a producer in an interview discussing the Season 2 finale amid the WGA strike.

This is really sad. The show was great and I was definitely looking forward to a third season. Hopefully Sam Richardson finds something new soon. He is a great actor.
It’s even more disappointing when you consider they are not canceling Foundation which is terrible.
While Afterparty was not my favorite show, I loved watching Sam Richardson on screen and the show seemed to have a lot of fun with itself and its fans. I’m definitely pretty bummed about this news.
It feels like the steaming bubble is finally bursting and studios are realizing they can’t support a unique streaming service by throwing money at as many series as they can. The sad thing is that means plenty of smaller shows are being cut regardless of their quality; the studios have just reached a point of tightening their belts. I’m sure the combined writers/ actors strike probably hurt as well (even though it was completely necessary).

I lasted about halfway through the pilot.
This show was boring.

Disappointed, was looking forward to more.
At least they had two great seasons and no loose ends to tie up so I can at least imagine Aniq and Zoe live happily ever after.
