boredtortoise ( @boredtortoise@lemm.ee ) 18•1 year agoI don’t think there’s ever been anything I’ve absolutely needed to see there and used nitter for a couple of curiosities.
I’m sure I won’t miss it.
dawnerd ( @dawnerd@lemm.ee ) 4•1 year agonitter is breaking too unfortunately
RileyIsBad (she/her) ( @RileyIsBad@beehaw.org ) 17•1 year agoI mean it’s not much of a change, considering a minimal amount of activity would result in you getting bombarded with super pushy sign-in popups.
With this and Reddit pulling the shenanigans they are pulling, it sucks to see a large portion of Google’s results suddenly become useless, but it’s nothing but a growing pain in the path to a more decentralized internet.
Meldrik ( @meldrik@lemmy.wtf ) 8•1 year agoJust another good reason to use Mastodon 😎
HughJanus ( @HughJanus@lemmy.ml ) 2•1 year agoI’ve recently discovered Calckey and it is worlds better, in my opinion.
Shrek ( @psysok@lemmy.ml ) 5•1 year agoI am not logging back into Twitter. They already lost my trust.
Green_Highlighter ( @Green_Highlighter@lemmy.ml ) 3•1 year agoYep I noticed that today. Oh well, I’m never signing back into Twit. No more tweet reading for me unless somebody posts a screenshot I guess.
Lost_Wanderer ( @Lost_Wanderer@beehaw.org ) 3•1 year agoSeems to have killed my nitter list too
KnoxHarrington ( @KnoxHarrington@beehaw.org ) 3•1 year agoThat sucks, but I’m partially glad. I deleted my Twitter account like a lot of other people did, but I still would click on links to look at Tweets sometimes. I’m glad to lo longer give them the traffic!
Lost_Wanderer ( @Lost_Wanderer@beehaw.org ) 2•1 year agoWas using nitter successfully to avoid giving twitter any ad hits. Seems that it is broken at the momen too
Arthur Besse ( @cypherpunks@lemmy.ml ) 2•1 year agoat this moment:
- twitter.com requires a login to view anything
- nitter.net is still able to load tweets and timelines
I wonder if one of those is by accident?!
AlexWIWA ( @AlexWIWA@lemmy.ml ) 1•1 year agoSite is dead to me then. I’m not logging in on my phone
Qiz ( @Qiz@beehaw.org ) 1•1 year agoI wonder if this will affect Google search. It’s not like Twitter is my go to after a search but sometimes I do end up there.
DarkMatterStyx ( @darkmatterstyx@lemmy.fmhy.ml ) 1•1 year agoIt always nice when the trash takes itself out.
HughJanus ( @HughJanus@lemmy.ml ) 1•1 year agoThis also seems to have broken Nitter and Mastodon bots.
ayon ( @ayon@lemmy.ml ) 1•1 year agoThat’s good news. It probably means that they’re losing users like crazy and have to resort to shady practices like this one in order to force signups.
shortwavesurfer ( @shortwavesurfer@monero.town ) 0•1 year agoGlad i ocnly care about mastodon and lemmy. Each news story about all this makes me more and more glad with every headline
HughJanus ( @HughJanus@lemmy.ml ) 2•1 year agoLike it or not, there are still very impactful conversations taking place on Twitter. It’s good to be aware of them.
