Hey there 👋 I really like Mlem on the iPhone, but iPad is no really supported so far. When we can expect a proper tablet version? Thanks 😊

Currently, our main focus is to lay down the basic functions to get to a solid 1.0 app we can submit to the App Store for approval which is a difficult review process for a first-time app. Once we’re in, we can focus on other, more advanced improvements and features, one of which is more comprehensive iPad support.
We promise it’s coming soon after our official, App Store release-- and, no, not “eventually” in the Apollo sense of “never”. I personally use my iPad as my primary device and want it sooner than later, so it will certainly be sooner than later.
Also, we want more than the very basic support Apollo had. We want it to be as awesome an experience as the iPhone is, so we’re going to make sure it’s a great design!

cope ( @threedc@lemmy.ml ) English1•2 years agoI long for the Mlem iPad Version, too. Sadly it looks like it will still take some time until its finished. Memmy is an great app that supports the iPad, but in my Opinion the content is displayed too big (padding on the left and right side is only for content like images). At the moment the best way to go is wefwef.app for the iPad. It shows the content 1:1 as Apollo.

Kim Mi ( @k1m@feddit.de ) English2•2 years agoMemmy supports iPadOS from the beginning, so why not Mlem 😅
ken27238 ( @ken27238@beehaw.org ) English1•2 years agobecause there’s a difference between a good iPad app and just enabling it in Xcode and letting is stretch across the whole screen. and iPhone app on a 12in iPad Pro looks ridiculous.
