Pete Hahnloser ( @Powderhorn@beehaw.org ) 8•1 year agoI’ve lived in Texas for eight years. I’ve seen a Bucc-ee’s once from 35 and never went inside. It’s definitely a huge thing here for some people, but I’m not in the in-crowd. I hear “120 people in the impatient mindset one is in while their gas is pumping gathered in one space” and do not think “roadside attraction.”
sim_ ( @sim_@beehaw.org ) English5•1 year agoThe obsession with Buccee’s here, from people of all types, doesn’t make any sense to us. Why do people hype up an ever-crowded gas station that happens to also sell guns and Jesus-themed house decor? It’s all my least favorite parts of the US in one terrible place.
Stillhart ( @Stillhart@lemm.ee ) 5•1 year agoInteresting choice investing in a huge gas station as the conversion to electric is finally starting to pick up steam. I’m sure it’ll still be needed for many years, but it just doesn’t feel like a great long term prospect with how tight profit margins are from gas stations.
jlarex ( @jlarex@beehaw.org ) 2•1 year agoI 've only been a few times but the Bucc-ee’s I’ve been to had electric charging stations.
Altima NEO ( @altima_neo@lemmy.zip ) 1•1 year agoI mean its Texas. Im sure theyll do what they can to keep gasoline alive. They all want their huge, lifted pickups.
