Negotiators from EU countries and the European Parliament agreed on a landmark new law to restore at least 20% of Europe’s land and sea areas by 2030 and all ecosystems in need of restoration by 2050.

grooving ( @grooving@lemmy.studio ) 3•1 year agoBut 20% within 6 years seems absurdly high. Unless 25%+ of the land is already designated as ‘nature’ then all they need to do is not turn it into a parking lot. Still a pretty big ask.
