Half-Life was delayed a full year past its original release date, and Valve has no regrets.
WHYAREWEALLCAPS ( @WHYAREWEALLCAPS@kbin.social ) 7•7 months agoThe problem is so many studios are owned by publicly traded companies. Those companies expect, nay, demand that product ships during the quarter it was supposed to lest they face the stockholders’ wrath.

TwilightVulpine ( @TwilightVulpine@kbin.social ) 2•7 months agoI generally like Valve’s approach when it comes to Steam, but as far as game development goes they are more on the “late is forever” side of things.
I like his stance towards realism. People confuse it with believability, when believability is more about having internally consistent rules.
