Aaaa my heart 🥰 This is chicken soup for my t-slur soul. Imagining these similarly lonely and incredibly computer-proficient trans people comparing talking about which famous people they look like and sharing their GeoCities pages. Just… Shouting into the void and hoping someone notices. And here we are, decades later. I noticed.
I wish that there was more continuum of our movement. When I was a teenage egg in ~2013, transness wasn’t something that made sense or was inviting. Trans people were the punchline, trans people were mysterious. Sites popular st the time were very unfriendly. I was on… Reddit, and 4chan. I’d moved off of tumblr, and avoided twitter and Instagram.
Now things have changed, but we are burning bright. We have to ensure when the spotlight moves away from trans issues that we dont go back to the darkness.
