Could it be that we had to confirm the results? Your quote suggests that it was open to more research at that point, while the article says after a decade of research it is now official.
It’s interesting to have more insight to the process - an important reminder that these things don’t happen overnight.

I see I see. I will admit until Lemmy I never experienced the whole “tankie” thing, along with other interesting discourse. I respect the view.
To offer some additional thoughts though, I believe these people have always existed on the Internet, just “elsewhere”. However, federation means they are more likely to come into visibility for the average person. It’s the flip side of not having a central entity making all the decisions - control is entirely in the hands of the individual to block/filter the content/sources/users they don’t want to see.

Could you elaborate?

If they at least saw things wrapped up, even if prematurely, I’d be more okay with it. But all my favourite Netflix series (Santa Clarita Diet, Kaos, etc) were all dropped without such an effort.
I had to cancel my Netflix subscription because that isn’t worth it.

Typical fucking Netflix.

Got back into the game just in time :D

Lol that Bill guy doubled down, and also hides his posts. Wow.
Also, labels himself “the demigod of digital debauchery”. What a guy.
