100% done this. Some systems just gel with me better (like nWoD or CofD). I’ve always wanted to try this with Curse of Strahd.

rpg@ttrpg.network•D&D 2024 Is Now OFFICIALLY Called "5.5e"
4·8 months agoFinally! It makes so much sense. Glad they’re giving up and just accepting it because I’ve been calling it that personally for awhile lol.

RPGMemes @ttrpg.network•The sheer number of options is the best thing about Pathfinder. It's also the worst.
2·1 year agoHaha we used to live for that shit in the days of 3e/3.5
EDIT: I see now you thought they meant Pathfinder 1e, which explains it. Since that’s basically the same as 3.5 but better lol.
Subbed!
The USSR had to deal with a civil war, rising up during WWI and being sabotaged by the Germans, more civil war, foreign meddling, and all while being the first successful communist revolution. Yet they still managed to raise literacy, raise health outcomes, raise average life expectancy, gender equality, science and technology, end the cycle of famines (after the first one or two they had when they were still building up), had faster growth during that period than any capitalist country (except maybe the US, which was doing imperialism at the time and the biggest hegemon), all while helping sustain other socialist countries, like Cuba, Venezuela, or North Korea.

3·2 years agoThat’s a food idea to include it on a session 0. For a long time I didn’t realize how lucky I was to have such creative players until I started DMing with players new to rpg’s who aren’t used to that “I can do anything?!” mindset.

3·2 years agoHow so? I heard their protocol was better than Activity Pub, but I don’t really know the details or what the difference is.

rpg@ttrpg.network•Which system new to you are you aiming to play in 2025?
3·2 years agoI feel like I’m going to have to play in a Blades in the Dark game before I run one, but not sure how. But that would definitely be on my list.
I got the Avatar rpg forever ago and haven’t had a chance to play it yet, either.
And Pathfinder 2E is definitely on the list.
Not sure if DnD 5e 2024 is different enough to count but if I can’t get a game of that going in the new year, I probably have no chance of any of these other ones happening either, so I’ll also say that one. Haven’t even delved into the differences between that and the 2014 version yet, though.

100% This moment can help galvanize people to the need to fix our Healthcare, but random acts of violence won’t fix it, people organizing together will.

2·2 years agoThis book sounds absolutely fascinating. I love weird obscure, hobby history. It’s why I really miss the history segments of The Great British Bake Off (even though some people apparently found them boring?). I’ll definitely have to add it to my list of books to get.

I’ve played a Call of Cthulhu games in nWoD or CofD before. Never tried fantasy, that seems neat.
