i run a SWADE game, and the book indexes are great. Nothing online, but various VTT systems can be used as a database if you buy the content.

The SWADE rules are considerably simpler than D&D, and they have optional rules that you can mix-and-match to fit the mechanics better to your setting. For example, expanded fear and insanity rules for horror campaigns, or armor ranks for a sci-fi settings with mechs and spaceships, etc. It’s especially fast in the combat department, I recently had a boss fight that lasted 2 rounds (took about 20 min IRL) because two players rolled well.

Cypher is great too, perhaps even better, but Cypher really requires an experienced GM. The rules are so general that you as the GM really need to decide for each roll what the modifiers should be, there’s guidance but no specific systems for grappling, chases, overland travel, searching, nothing. So it can be really good and fluid and creative if you can pull it off as a GM (and the GM never rolls anything, giving you more time & energy to focus on your GM role), but an inexperienced GM will suffer.

They are VERY rules-light, very roleplay-heavy, but fun. I’ve been a player in a *Monster of the Week" game for years, and it has been a blast.

You can pretty easily use the SWADE rules + the sci-fi companion to to a solar punk game. I’m running a western / sci-fi mashup right now and loving it.

The last parsec is a setting for SWADE with campaigns etc.

A consistent yoga practice helps too, but you should always learn from someone who is actually qualified, you can really hurt yourself doing yoga if you don’t know what you are doing.

It is indeed a cooling mechanism. Most people don’t think about it much, but we humans are expectationally good at shedding excess heat through sweat. Other species don’t have such heat dissipation, and Hebe to do whatever they can to get a not of cooling.

The cannabis plant when left to itself doesn’t create much THC (which is what gets you high), but it is very useful for making rope and clothing, as well as oil and other products. Only when you make sure that you only have female plants (and take care of them in a certain way) do they produce lots of THC.

Any observable phenomenon should be studied using the scientific method. The alternatives are superstition or ignorance.

Psychology is a good example. It has been limited by our technology and our morals. The human brain is extremely complicated, and we cannot just disrupt peoples lives to create ideal testing conditions. But that doesn’t mean that psychology is not science. It just means that it has unique challenges.

I agree that that solves some problems, 100%. But I’ve seen the downward slide of society take hard-fought civil rights away for several decades now. It’s never a sudden process, it always starts small and then slowly grows.

Yes, that’s exactly how RPM works. it’s supposed to be a last resort if options like distrobox or homebrew can’t deliver what you need. It can break stuff if you are not careful.

Anyway, then I’d definitely go with silverblue.

Silverblue is what I’m putting on my partner’s older PC, the fact that it atomic is a big plus-point.

Be warned though, some less common non-cli packages are more difficult to install. If your SO needs something along those lines, mint may be better.

For example, nordVPN has a nice GUI interface, but it has no appimage or flatpak, so it won’t work on silverblue without modifying the ostree. That’s not a good idea, so on my (bazzite) PC I have installed a simple openVPN GUI package, and set it up to use our nordVPN account. It works fine, but it’s not a pretty map-based interface, just a giant list of servers.

I use obsidian extensively, and I love it. It certainly does seem to use WAY more system resources than it should though, and I assume that electron is to blame. It’s a shame they didn’t base it on a different framework.

Perhaps someone who knows more about web development can explain what sort of upsides electron brings with it.
