@itsfoss@mastodon.social obviously, no update for Linux. Because it is so complicated to implement blah blah blah … There is an alternative VPN Client called vopono. And it is OpenSource. Proton could use it as a base…

@thelinuxEXP@mastodon.social I really want #Mozilla to become financially independent from Google. I want a browser manufacturer who believes in the optimistic vision of the internet, which we had before unsocial media.

But if they sacrifice this vision, there is nothing which keeps me at #Firefox.

Anyway, as Linux users, we should also not forget, that the Terms of Usage don’t apply to us. We have no business with Mozilla. Our Firefox is provided by Fedora, Ubuntu etc. We never ever agreed to the TOS.

@itsfoss@mastodon.social I only use #MullvadVPN and it works for me - unlike #protonVPN.

The main issue with proton is that I cannot exclude some apps. Usually I have a 3 browser setup: Tor Browser for general reading, Mullvad Browser with VPN for services where I login and Firefox for sites without VPN (like online banking). Just create a *.desktop file to run “mullvad-exclude firefox” and it works.
With Proton I would have to setup a VM for non-vpn browsing.

@itsfoss@mastodon.social worth noting that this feature is just SimpleLogin.io integrated in proton pass.
You can still buy and use it independently from Proton Pass. It’s nice to see that Pass users get SimpleLogin for free, but I prefer to manage my mail aliases outside proton pass (as I already use a different password manager)

Another service offering the same features is Addy.io, which you can get it for 1€/month.
