Privacy@sopuli.xyz•EU calls VPNs “a loophole that needs closing” in age verification push
3·5 months agoShitty title, it is not (yet) a EU position that VPNs need to be restricted. The article refers to a paper from EPRS aimed at (mis) informing EU lawmakers. The paper only says that ‘some’ consider VPNs a loophole that needs closing and states without providing any evidence that VPNs are increasingly used by minors to bypass age restrictions.

World News@quokk.au•Moscow could launch attack on European state on China's orders, ex-NATO advisor says
5·6 months agoI struggle with the logic here. NATO or Europe won’t be involved or distracted if China invades Taiwan. And I doubt Putin is daft enough to start an all out war with Europe. It might be a distraction for the US, but we don’t need the US to wipe the floor with Russia

UK Politics@feddit.uk•Sadiq Khan says Labour should pledge to rejoin EU
2·7 months agoI never said it was a huge majority (although significantly bigger than the majority that got us out in the first place). But your comment suggests that rejoining is unpopular outside London, and I found no evidence for that. Hence my question if you have anything to back up your initial comment.

UK Politics@feddit.uk•Sadiq Khan says Labour should pledge to rejoin EU
9·7 months agoGot any evidence for that? The majority of people think brexit was a failure and are in favour of rejoining, and within labour (and libdems and greens) it’s an even bigger majority. Source: yougov

UK Politics@feddit.uk•Greens’ ‘undeliverable’ promises will let voters down, says Labour minister
8·11 months agoHe isn’t even discussing which promises they won’t be able to deliver on and why. Just slinging mud. And stating the next election will be a fight between reform and labour - which, if they keep going the way they are, may not be the case.

Appreciate the archive link.
