I really don’t understand how you see no difference between the parties from an anti-capitalist view. If all you’re concerned about is the economic system, I guess that’s true, but one party is doing its best to burn the world down while the other is not doing that, or even investing more effort towards renewables. An anti-capitalist society can’t exist without the planet surviving. My vote is valuable as a vote against the people that want to add more and more fossil fuel plants and decrease environmental protections. I am a leftist, and for me that is inseperable from my identity as an environmental activist. I don’t vote for blue fascists instead of red fascists because I think they’re less fascist, but because they’re at least not activity speeding up the demise of the planet. I want a world without capital, borders, or state, but for that to happen, humanity needs to exist.

I vote for leftist candidates on my local level and I vote for whichever option is more interested in preventing ecocide federally. It isn’t going to fix anything, but we’re at a very sensitive moment for climate change and it really matters what we’re doing about it. I don’t understand how that’s not a lever at all. I would like it if the next generations have a world to inherit, and there is a tangible difference between the two major parties federally. I’ll vote for the neoliberal that kills the planet slower, because the revolution isn’t happening this election cycle, or likely for a long time. I take direct action in my community, and I use my vote in hopes of not killing the planet for shareholder value.

You can take direct action and also use every lever you have to try and bring about a better world. We can’t vote our way out of fascism but we can at least vote against accelerationists and buy ourselves some time.

Oh, I agree, but I don’t believe Ed Sheeran consciously chose that. I believe he’s still trying to hold on to the old program of trying to appeal to the majority of people and avoid upsetting anyone. He misjudged public opinion, or more likely, he bowed to the slightest pressure from a powerful person that still operates on the guidelines of manufacturing consent for the status quo. I don’t think Ed Sheeran’s choice had anything to do with his actual opinions, but a desire to avoid any controversy compounded by an apathy towards Palestine’s plight.

Ed Sheeran booted Macklemore from his tour for giving a pro-Palestine speech, and it’s basically imploded his career. Basically every artist that was going to perform with him has dropped him. The public no longer sees being apolitical as a virtue; staying out of politics is consent for the status quo.

Hello! I’ve seen you around, and I noticed you’ve altered the way you style your text over time. Out of curiosity (and please feel no need to answer if it makes you at all uncomfortable), was that a conscious choice, or were you more intentional about altering your voice? I ask because I have pretty consciously changed the voice of my writing over time, and also between spaces like lemmy, where I’m (obviously) a bit more formal, and private matrix rooms or group chats where I’m more informal. I like language, and any time I see people doing interesting things with their own idiolects (personal dialects) and sociolects (subculture dialects) it fascinates me.

• the water mini game is a bit annoying, I would recommend giving the ladle thing gravity to make it a tad less fiddly
• I cannot for the life of me figure out what the tree button does. It might have been explained in the tutorial popup but I forgot if so, and can’t find a way to pull it back up to check

I just spent a few weeks in Austria! I flew in to Munich, it was very nice. My plan is to learn German once I’m happy with my Spanish, and potentially escape the US for greener and less fascist pastures.

Take your hair in two ponytails, secured close to your head, the separate each tail into a top and a bottom half. You’re gonna twine them together like thread or yarn, so you twist each half of a tail towards your face, then wrap the halves around each other away from your face. Twist, then wrap, twist, then wrap, and do that all the way to the ends and secure with a small hairband.

Once you have both sides in twist braids, bring them up across the top of your head, and tuck the ends through the opposite braid, hiding the ends by tucking them back under the braids. Tug them snug, and you’re done! I put my hair up like this when I know I’m going out and about and want my hair up, but don’t want a ponytail or bun for whatever reason, like being able to lay down with it. As a bonus, when you take your hair out, you have cute wavy curls!

I definitely feel this! I haven’t dealt with dysphoria in a long time, and I rarely deal with any form of bigotry in my personal life, but I still feel that pressure! I’ve been late to things because the stubble on my legs was just a little too long, even though it’s unlikely anyone would notice it, and I had to shave. Hell, even today I wore a long skirt instead of shorts because I didn’t have time to shave! Super annoying, especially because no one would likely notice or care, but I’m sure someone made an off comment when I was impressionable and now that’s psychic damage I gotta live with.

I’ll give some advice that helped me and my partner, with the exact same issue. I have no problem orgasming, but my partner struggles. We have found that focusing on the most gender euphoric parts helps her finish, in her case it’s gently playing with her boobs while she’s topping, which allows her to focus on that rather than the other physical sensations. Penetration, while not a negative experience for her, in fact she very much enjoys topping, still isn’t the most important part of sex for her. This advice might not be relevant to you if topping is very euphoric for you, but focus on the parts of sex that are most euphoric. Fulfilling each other’s kinks also helps us!

The term pre-op does sound presumptuous, but the idea that bottom dysphoria could play a role isn’t truscum. My partner loves topping and is on the fence about getting bottom surgery, but still has bottom dysphoria and that’s a huge part of why she has trouble orgasming.
