The apps have not been released, but even so you can see the source code for each prototype on their GitHub. Please try to find out about stuff before you make claims. All the source code that exists is available for your perusal. https://ageverification.dev/Setup
Ok, cool. What’s wrong with the source code?
The EU age verification app is designed to not reveal any information other than the user’s age being over 18. https://digital-strategy.ec.europa.eu/en/faqs/eu-age-verification-solution

Are you suggesting they be banned outright from all? Here you have to weigh the freedom of citizens against the need to protect them from harm. It’s easier to argue that underage children are unable to choose for themselves, but what would be the basis for limiting the freedom of adults?
Seems interesting! Does anyone have insight into how private this would be compared to Apple Pay?
It really emphasises the ‘neutrality’ of this ‘article’ when they always write Israel as ‘Israel’
I’ve had some midrange phones for a few days. They’re fine until I take photo and show it on a display that’s larger than a phone screen.
Right, and so anyone who wants an actual flagship phone should skip Fairphone because they’re not going to like it. I’m glad we agree.
The Drime iOS app does not let you upload anything else than photos from your camera roll. The macOS app demands to control my Mac through accessibility features before I can even log in (which I’m not going to allow when there is no reason to do so) so I have no idea how or if the app works. So at least for my use case Drime is not really an option for now.
I don’t follow literally every community so I can’t comment on that.
I suppose it’s more about learning to avoid buying operating systems from USA
Kuka ihme soittelee kaiken maailman puhelinmyyjien perään. Laittakoon sitten jälkikäteen viestiä että millä asialla soittelee ja milloin on sopivaa soitella takaisin.
I don’t think that’s exactly true. Only InkPad X Pro, InkPad EO and Color Note are on Android, but I think all other readers are Linux (non-android). On the other hand, some services only work with iOS or android (for example the Finnish e-library) so this may also be good to keep in mind (I had no idea pocketbook even have android versions until now).
Global production chains are weird. Woody and Toby are made in China from wood composite that is made in Finland. But yes, looks like the product itself is indeed put together in China.
Mysoda is Finnish. I have used their Woody for years and it works fine. https://mysoda.eu/
I hate uploading selfies and pictures of my ID to prove my age online. I would much prefer the age verification system that the EU is building.
