My current thought is: scripting API access related to a Forgejo repo and runner. Adding services, which are perhaps taken offline after a set amount of time. Unsure about email, but open to ideas. This would be a project for those actually interested in contributing, be it through a git repo, or other method. Thoughts? I’ve done this before with a VPS, but starting from the domain level is new!

Sounds fun. I did try Cosmic some time ago on a live disk and it had almost no features at that time, but was very snappy.

Any notable differences between Ubuntu and Debian base for you?
The only issue with this is it is Kubuntu, which is exactly what I already use. The theme and icon pack can be added onto any other distro, so that works.
I’m aware of the history, but I’ve never run any of them.
I specifically listed Debian as a no, just because I have tons of experiences with Debian XFCE. Spoiler, it is great. Haha.

Why not base Fedora? A lot of people are saying that with default gnome. I’ve never even tried yum, so either would be something new.

Update, been running Fedora 44 for just over 6 weeks. Settled into Cosmic after experimenting with LXQT and Gnome. Fought with partially implemented installer in Hannah Montana Linux, then gave MX Linux with Fluxbox a spin (but found it struggling with running multiple processes). Cosmic is quite bare, but that isn’t an issue in coming from LXQT. Performance is fantastic, even if it doesn’t “do much” beyond run a thing.
