I don’t keep up with mushoku tensei but I knew from the thumbnail frame what the moment was. As I read the novel I couldn’t pass up the time travel part.

Excluding cartoons like Maya the bee and Moomins then probably flip flappers in 2016. There were probably other anime series or ghibli films. But Flip Flappers were the first one that I remember waiting for next episode every week.

<The Ostrich Beastman Wild and Unrivaled Rampage> vol 1 & and halfway through vol 2 - I found manga first but I had to read more. Isekai where MC gets to be a kindergartener of 300 natural disasters that can flatten the city. A bit on the nose with anti-racist, anti-facist messaging but author doesn’t get why it’s bad. The antagonists behaviour is irrational as he is supposed to the brilliant tactician.

Still fun and hilarious adventure when we suspend our disbelief. 7/10

The Ostrich Beastman’s Wild and Unrivaled Rampage: I Became the Leader of the Stupidly Cute Strongest Race - Hilarious isekai about tribe of ostriches that became sentient and behave like a locusts. Everyone wants to avoid the next Great Emu War.

Other than weekly discussion, and episode releases there are couple type of post that you could make.

1. Looking for recommendations - self explanatory. You provide what genre of a show you are looking for and people will recommend the best ones. (More abstract and crazy requirements it’s more fun to interact with)
2. Reviews - If you watched the show and you have opinions you could share them as a post
3. Hosting/participate in a rewatch - If you want to (re)watch a show that isn’t airing currently you could make a chain of posts for each episode, and invite people to watch with you. Usually host prepares some deeper episode analysis but that’s not required.

Usually if it’s not exceptionally good, I just drop the series. I have currently 15 series marked as “reading”. If I really can’t wait, I check if there is !lightnovels@ani.social version.

This first chapter feels sincere in the emotion of escapism and grief of loved ones.

Last week I had exams so instead of studying I procrastinated and read web novel Am I inside a Rom-Com? - The foreground plot is about a isekai-regression writer MC who gets roped into making a film with teenagers. The main plot is about how he struggles with burn-out, creativity and pleasing the readers or creating for yourself. The juicy sub-plot is about how real life author banters with the reader about meta-aspects of the work. For example author makes a question in the title, and the one who answers isn’t the main character but the reader. (There is other meta-stuff but that would be a spoiler IMO) 9/10

Great art with good plot hook. I will keep an eye on this one.

I really like Asa had watered her desert and made oasis to welcome others.

“I witnessed you” - it’s acknowledgment that asa has stood out but on her own terms this time, and maybe that she reach out.

Couple of weird choices regarding the adaptation. English translation of “princess”, in LN Quof translated as just “my lady”, and how ferdinand cast the spell in full view.

I kinda like how fake and stiff Rozmyne persona feels. The coldness of nobility is not something I felt as much in the Light Novel.

Also Chekhov stockpiles his heap of guns.

From the crowd I spotted few familiar faces, Ottilie Bonifatus and Rihyarda. The music is using some similar instrument to harspiels but still it’s different to the real life counter part of bandura.

In this episode there is no epiphany, a lot of time has passed but the changes are very subtle. I like that it’s not explicitly said what epiphany makio’s friend had.

Asa has a conflict where she cannot express her internal state in words. as Maikio put it, she lacks vocabulary.

<Goodbye, Horrible Fiancé, Hello, Fun Magic School Life!> vol 1 - The Protagonist has so much plot armor that plot gave up and stopped trying to throw a spanner in the works. The are no stakes here. Even slice of life has more inconsequential stakes than this novel. I don’t recommend it.

On th other hand <Altina the Sword Princess> vol1 is great. Protagonist is a bottom rung officer that is sent to remote fortress to work there, where he meets Titular Princess. The only bit of magic is how she can wield comically large sword. In the oversaturation of isekai it’s quite refreshing read. The romantic duo isn’t anything new but they are written well enough. I would label this as adventure - romcom and as I like all adventures I like this.
