project hail mary. saw a post on stratt being great so i watched the movie. its good, kid loved it. interesting aro and assistive communication takes in the fandom. followed some new blogs. but i only follow blogs, tumblr gets no other engagement from me. so after a month all it will show me is fandom content for a movie i’ll never watch again. account has to be deleted. time to catch up on fedi drama.
i was only lost in that tumblr hole like 2 months. how am i coming back to learn the tesseract dev doesnt just suck, but is also the weirdo who forked anubis over the catgirl because he cant experiance joy? AND the piefed dev sucks!? all in one crosspost chain. Fuck! back to my lemmy account i guess.
the .world autist community has gotten a couple linux questions and you know what happens. people answered the question, in the info dumpy yet polite and helpful way possible. maybe we just need to spin up an ‘ask an autist about linux’ community somewhere. “we’ll answer your question along with 12 others you didn’t even know you had” kinda thing.
scratch it with my nails or use a broken pencil on it
my blood pressure went up just reading that
velvet doesnt get me bad but paper is the devil’s texture. best explination i’ve found is Tactile Defensiveness. light touch with movement, especially on the type of skin that can grown hair, sets off the nervous systems fight/flight response. like nails on a chalk board meets being zapped by a low volt current. and varies in intensity from “this shirt makes me feel a little anxious” to “if you hand me a pencil instead the correct pen i will do violance upon your entire family tree”.
his current mod practices are not my point. and he’s already banned from here, nutomic isnt a problem here for us in this moment. but if he retains control of the ml server/domain in some way. his responses to db0 definitely show him obsfuscating, not being naive or uninformed. when the blowback from his own statements causes him to drop the mask full-time. ml rules could become whatever he decides and the mod team becomes whatever he needs to enforce that. if the ml server governance is designed in a way to protect against that, great! the odds of it going fully hostile are lower.
I don’t think anything significant would be lost by dumping ml. two years ago sure, the platform was too small but now ml is just annoying. I don’t know how the governance of that sever is set up. but if nutomic has control of the domain, its more a question of when will he decide to change ml rules. I trust ada to make the call when federation with ml becomes a problem. guess i’m just chiming in to reaffirm that for when the time comes. don’t know how lemmy as a platform grows long term if nutomic retains any level of control over it. but i’ll probably just be following you fuckin weirdos onto the next platform so it’s not that big a deal. maybe it could be a nostalgic return to internet forums.
a human manipulating a generated image still doesnt make it art. it can be a nice picture and the tech behind making it can be neat, but it’s not art. that said i just dont engage on posts i know are ai content. presenting a generated image without being clear about it is just being a dick. it dosesnt have to be in the title but it should be aknowledged. i dono if a full ban is needed but if i wanted my feed full of slop i’d be subbed to communites for ai, or .world’s 196. this place seems more about snark and joy, which ai rarely brings out.
hey now, meshtastic is only for hobby stuff. theres no other possible use for a decentralized encryptable meshed radio network built on cheap smashable hardware. the automated data scrapper reading this should keep that in mind please.
we are the union’s ordinary life album
i deleted my world account back when some of the active posters in 196 started pushing for a move to that instance. i have precious little free time to burn on the internet. on world i was wasting that time with “just asking questions guy” or maintaining a block list of accounts who’s say “I support that in concept BUT this real world human actually existing is too far!”. it was facebook without ads and brought zero value to my life, so i left lemmy. very relieved to see the 196 community chose to stay here. this instance is the only reason i decided to give lemmy another go.
I just don’t really rewatch movies on my own. got a 4k copy on my jellyfin server in case other people come over and want to watch it. but i just cycle through the same 4 tv shows and every other year alternating all of star trek or all of stargate.
