1·7 months agoI’ve been enjoying the decafs these days. I play with the ratios daily for flavor and caffeine content and it’s working quite well. The decaf bean tech and variety has advanced quite a bit.
Would recommend if you “miss” the hot beverage ritual without paying the jittery costs.

4·8 months agoGood point!
Reminded Thoreau’s words something like “I’d rather become a good neighbor than a good subject”. Kindness radiates.

3·8 months agoThank you, didn’t know about them.
I’m not advocating for pacifism but maybe something in a same vein as a viral satirist cartoon can be considered a protest. A public performance, coordinated with a vision, that doesn’t always slide into “looting and fighting”. As you say, we should be ready for it but it’s a last resort since the opponents want the protestors to you turn violent to discredit and ignore.
Easy examples like Boston Tea Party, Singing Revolution or Salt March.
I would love a month long general strike but would accept random mildly coordinated actions towards a greater purpose.

2·8 months agoMakes sense, I guess I was looking for that viral factor.
Just these days it sounds like a regular protest, while fantastic for raising awareness and bringing people together, can easily get reported as “just another protest” and be dismissed easily.
From the replies here, feels like protesting is an act of life, not sporadic.

4·9 months agoIt’s rude to smack people without their consent.
You should make sure they’re hydrated and communicate effectively so they know to come clearly inside you.
Then you can smack them if they don’t comply.

6·1 year agoFunnily enough, I felt like they skirted the satire line quite well with the Israel portrayal.
It was accurate but not that overly offensive (*except to those who deny a holocaust and hospital bombings). It almost felt like they held back on “attacking Israel”.
They could have at least given Net&yahoo the Plan B treatment.
Let’s see what the future holds!

Television@piefed.social•What’s your favourite forgotten/niche or otherwise obscure TV series that you wish more people knew about?
2·1 year agoHaha the accents are quite heightened. My benefit of the doubt reason is that it’s meant to be old timey so has to be extra. I am not in the US so I still can’t believe that Alberta’s accent is a real accent.
The show is a really good example of UK vs US humour and styles. Both quite well done so it’s nice to see the positive differences. One is a quiet, mind your business deal and the other is a huge celebration of character and emotion.

3·1 year agoSoo good. It’s amazing to see the cast being silly with intent, dedication and love.
The caveman immediately climbed my “best written and portrayed character” list of all time. Perfect depiction of an enlightened being. Childish and wise in beautiful harmony.
Btw, the US version has grown on me. It starts as really really “American” with the extra-ness but over time it mellows out with some really heartfelt moments, interesting questions and wacky antics. I usually hate this cliche but… “it gets better after the first season”. Would recommend if you have time to kill and want to watch something light.

Honestly, I have a hard time staying interested in hobbies due to this.
Just so hard wired to think of expression as having some capital, either financial or social.
Any time I have some thought, I am asking… Hmm is there value in this? I understand expression for expression’s sake but we are social animals in the end. And that need for validation taints it.
I grapple with it. But getting better. Have some private hobbies and slowly pecking at them.
