Here’s the neet part it won’t same as the pitbull ban even if we get defined breeding standards and it works they’ll just mix something like Canie Corso’s or something else that they will then abuse to the point it’ll be a weapon

    • They don’t need to define the breeding as being a cross between x and y breeds, but as a set of characteristics for example. I’m not an expert in dog breeding but I’m sure a group of experts could come up with a definition that isn’t overly broad but also defies workarounds

Think that no matter how well the law defines banned breeds, if the number of dog wardens (and/or police) who can follow up on reports of banned breeds is not increased & their department given more resources to investigate cases & confiscate animals, enforcement won’t be great.

But it is a start & should discourage some of the breeders & some of the prospective buyers.

Cane Corsos I thought were already banned in the UK, so if true it seems unlikely that a Cane Corso x American Bully XL would fly, though I suppose they’d be less immediately identifiable to the general public. On the other hand, have often heard that mixes of breeds with very intense drives like these, tend to be more stable & predictable than the pure breeds they were mixed from rather than the cauldron of aggression one might expect, but this could be a total myth.

I feel like the abuse of animals to create a dangerous dog is another matter, even if there is a lot of overlap between the people who do that & the people who pick certain breeds as pets.
