as soon as youtube blocks newpipe, exodus to peertube may happen
I’m willing to bet that the percentage of people watching Youtube via Newpipe is at least an order of magnitude smaller than of people browsing reddit through third party clients.
No kidding. I never even heard of newpipe until, like, this month. I’ve still never looked it up to see what it’s like.
I just watch youtube with some quality of life extensions and an adblocker, and I know for a fact a lot of people don’t even use an adblocker (sometimes even when they know adblockers exist! Why!)
Maybe peertube will get an influx from newpipe users if it falls, but compared to the number of users, even users who produce videos, on youtube, it’ll be microscopic, probably.
