How did it go? Any recommendations?

  • I like the deckbuilding in Dune: Empires more than in Ruins of Arnak. You still don’t get a whole lot of deck cycling and optimization but you do get some. Arnak has only - what - 5 turns?

I think both work well enough for their respective games. What makes the Arnak deckbuilding work is that your personal deck starts out very small deck and that newly purchased cards into your deck (or hand) rather than discard. The market’s gradual shifting from Items to Artifacts (which go directly into your hand) helps too.

With the Leaders expansion some of the characters let you go into a card-heavy strategy.

I am also not too much of a fan of Arnak, I found it to be kinda lackluster and a whole lot lf minmaxing from turn one. I prefer to go with the flow, adjust strategy and so forth. With Arnak I never felt fun, it felt like a job
