Then Bluesky moderation rolled out the red carpet and gave him the VIP treatment for it, seemingly only for being a journalist despite his terrible views.

I’m not sure that’s a good idea due to them giving the VIP treatment to a known transphobe just because he’s a journalist.
Should we all leave the Fediverse since there are thousands of evil assholes that develop and use it?
I mean, no. The real solution is to move to better software which aren’t developed by assholes or to seize the development away from the assholes.
As for the ones that use it the solution there is for admins and users to be liberal with the block and ban buttons.
I don’t believe there will ever be a solution that will please everyone.

Nobody’s stopping anyone from forking open source software.
If you don’t have the expertise or time/money, nobody’s stopping you from starting a GoFundMe or whatever, and hiring some devs you like.

From the article, it seems like they let him join and get blocked just like anyone else.
Yeah i dont see a problem unless they remove the blocking feature or force me to view content on my feed I cannot curate and opt out of.
