I think it worked because they had 10 whole episodes to give everyone something to do.

Part of the problem with past Star Trek movies is that it is hard to give the whole ensemble meaningful contributions when you are confined to three acts over two hours.

I want PIC S3 to stand as the TNG finale. If they want to continue with these characters, have some of them show up for an episode or two of the proposed Legacy show. But don’t try capturing lightning in a bottle again. It’s a miracle that TNG got a second good finale after all these years, don’t undercut it by giving us another Nemesis.
