I’ve used bitcoin to pay for hosting services, more because I could than anything. There’s fewer guarantees than with credit cards but I have to say that, for smaller amounts, it’s more comfortable than handing over card details.

I can understand why you converted immediately. Unless you’re willing to keep it speculatively, i.e. you don’t care about volatility, then it’s just sensible.
