Hello, I’m in no way affiliated with Project Gorgon, but I’ve been playing this MMORPG since 2014. It’s in a really good state right now and would love to see more players join the community.
You’ve been playing since 2014 and it’s still in early access? Isn’t that kinda weird?
Either way, I’ll check it out. I’m a sucker for MMOs.
At least it’s in early access. You’ve got games like Camelot Unchained and Pantheon that have been fundraising for 10 years and barely have an alpha to show. 😅
Oh man, I remember trying to de-hype my dad for Pantheon. We played a lot of EverQuest (and he still did honestly) so he was extra keen to hear Brad McQuaid was attached to the project (RIP).
The game started as the musings of an old gm/qc/dev from Asheron’s Call. The early days of the game were more like a sandbox for the dev and the players. He was throwing different systems at the wall to see what stuck with the players. I remember it being full of place holder assets and jank.
I’ve been playing since pre-alpha lol. It’s been a long time. xD
It’s a passion project being developed by a wife & husband team (both gamedev veterans if I recall), so I don’t ever expect it to exit early access. I think it is in EA more as a signifier of it being a constant work in progress
I wonder why they haven’t flipped it over yet? MMOs are never “done” and they are taking subscriptions so Early Access seems strange. On the other hand, it does have a demo, so I might try it anyway.
EDIT: A few hours of the demo was enough to convince me to drop the discounted price on the game. The graphics are meh, but the game seems to actually perform pretty well.
