It’s my understanding that a person’s username is tied to the instance. Is this incorrect? So if an instance goes down, so too do all of those users? You would then have to make another profile on another instance, which might not have your username.
I suppose we want the ability for usernames to develop a standing or reputation? For instance, shittymorph…
You can use a signing key for that, sign your messages. Use that key to prove that the same person owns the new account on the new instance.
Much simpler than blockchains.
