It can also be natural shifts in what you enjoy. I know that I mostly enjoyed very large time investment games in high school. But now any game that has elements of ‘and then go grind this for 5-10 hours’ is a no go. But my brain only remembers the fun I used to have with these, so I end up unhappy after I’ve bought a grindy game and not understanding why.
