Matchup History

23 prior matchups

VT: 12 wins

Pitt: 11

Played every year since 2012 (Pitt 7-5 in that)

Close games every single meeting. Similar amounts of students from NJ attend with similar GPAs. Always night games. It’s an in division rivalry

Coaching matchup history

4 prior matchups (Pitt vs. Penn State)

Narduzzi: 1 (Pitt)

Franklin: 3 (Penn State)

Franklin finds Narduzzi annoying.

Narduzzi hates Franklin as a rival dad.

These coaches hate one another. Franklin always disrespected the ACC but yet here he is, coaching in the ACC. This is the first matchup of Pitt and VT with Franklin at the helm.

Other stories

For the first time in history 2 4-0 unranked teams are playing. Both teams deserve to be ranked, but there’s more money ranking shitty SEC schools over ACC schools. Winner gets ranked.
