I’ve been using GitHub’s UI to do it. It seems just very slow to open issues in a new tab to analyse and label the issues.

Use the command line :)
I mean that is what I do and how I do it.
git clonethe remote repository, make a new branchgit checkout -b <name whatever>, and then triage/work on the suspected bug. Make changes locally as needed. When it’s all working as you’d expect,git push -u origin <name whatever matches your local branch>.
