so far the weekend has been pretty good. currently: writing about labor stuff, also reading this book. it has been a pretty mild and wet spring so far which is rare for here, and i’m enjoying that while it lasts

Skyward Sword (which is on Switch now!) is really interesting to play along side BotW. Some of the ideas about stamina, climbing, crafting, etc have analogs in SS, but it couldn’t be a more different game. SS feels like the culmination of a specific style of LoZ game, and BotW was as much a repudiation of SS as it is other open world games. SS is easily the most story and dialog-heavy game in the series which turns some people off, but the story actually kinda of cool and it has some of the best dungeons and bosses in the series. I think SS deserves better than it’s reputation might suggest.
Spirit Tracks is an odd one too. It does a lot of interesting stuff with the DS hardware so sadly it’ll probably remain locked to that platform.
