NFL is really the only league that doesn’t suffer from the problem of regional sports networks. Hopefully with the recent bankruptcy ruling against Diamond/Bally Sports, the other major sports leagues can move to a direct to consumer model so fans can actually watch their local team without spending $150/month or blackouts.

  • For the NBA, I’m really hoping the rights for local go back to the league. While their league pass isn’t amazing it would be so much better/smoother than Bally’s (which I refuse to pay for).

Streaming is going to be interesting, as I think you’ll start to see some sports (like soccer with MLS and NWSL with the whole league streaming) eat into the big ones who feel they can demand huge fees for a crappy product.
