I don’t have a steam deck, but my experience with handhelds is that even if you never take them anywhere it’s worth it even just for the ability to curl up in bed with it like you would with a book. It’s so cozy.
That’s pretty much how it’s been for me. I got the Steam Deck mostly for if I go on a trip, since I didn’t use my Switch much because my PC library is too huge (thanks Humble) and I didn’t like re-buying games on the Switch.
But I’ve found that the Deck had become my primary gaming platform now, and I use my desktop pretty rarely. Like you said, gaming in bed, or on the couch while my SO watches a show is a lot nicer than in my office. Being able to suspend games has been fantastic as well.
I’m a PC guy myself. I use a PC desktop w an AMD 3900X, nvidia 3080 Founders Edition. I also love my steam deck and have a Valve Index for VR.
