Getting dark sky is very challenging. I live on the outskirts of a city so I usually load up the car and drive. It’s a shame but, at the same time, telescopes weren’t always so affordable!
I started with binoculars and still use them to take on holiday (the telescope is way too big) and you can have a really great night with them.
