Removed Comment I think the most accurate read is that both were abusive to each other and both were lying in court to protect their own interests. The UK ruling found Depp's newspaper article defamatory, which is a specific legal determination not a comprehensive verdict on the entire relationship. Meanwhile, the evidence shows Heard was also abusive toward Depp. I get tired of the framing that because she's a woman, Heard is automatically the sole victim. The "believe women" slogan doesn't mean "believe all women unconditionally." And yes, the entire social media bullshit during the trial was toxic, but that doesn't make everything Heard said was true. Both people are fucked Edit: This isn't unique to Depp/Heard. Look at the Clancy trial, instead of discussing obvious medical incompetence and what it reveals about American healthcare, it's been reduced to "men vs women" or even absurd claims that the husband staged the whole thing. Meanwhile her defense isn't even arguing she didn't do it. Honestly, it's disgusting how social media treats these trials.
