Shots fired 🔥
Moonrise2473 ( @Moonrise2473@feddit.it ) 72•5 months agothose tables usually are wrong or misleading, i don’t like them.
Edge for example has the 3rd party cookie blocking and it works ok, so why it’s “no” and not “somewhat” or similar?
fossphi ( @fossphi@lemm.ee ) English5•5 months agoDoes it, though? Or does Microsoft come under the second party label
Moonrise2473 ( @Moonrise2473@feddit.it ) 5•5 months agoif i enable it, most websites don’t load ads at all, including MSN news that’s ad-ridden
ares35 ( @ares35@kbin.social ) 5•5 months agothe ‘msn news’ that most people see is the ‘start’ page that’s baked into the edge browser. ubo does not work on it. for users that actually want that page, i clean up the start page settings and throw a bookmark to msn.com on their toolbar instead so ubo works.
Zagorath ( @Zagorath@aussie.zone ) English4•5 months agoYeah I’m confused about what tracking Chrome blocks that Chredge does not.
ColeSloth ( @ColeSloth@discuss.tchncs.de ) 4•5 months agoBy that logic Linux supports windows because I can run it using wine.
Infiltrated_ad8271 ( @Infiltrated_ad8271@kbin.social ) 50•5 months agoI think this is a shitpost of the highest order. If this appears to everyone (?) it adds nothing, and the crappy table is just astonishingly blatant cherry-picking.
1984 ( @1984@lemmy.today ) 8•5 months agoI think it’s a work of love. :)
oce 🐆 ( @oce@jlai.lu ) 3•5 months agoIt seems to trigger discussions like yours, so it’s good, a forum is for discussion.
fine_sandy_bottom ( @fine_sandy_bottom@discuss.tchncs.de ) 1•5 months agoastonishingly blatant cherry-picking
Did you expect them to create a table showing how mediocre they are?
elgordio ( @elgordio@kbin.social ) 37•5 months agoSafari needs a tick in “copy urls without site tracking” since ios17 and macOS Sonoma
https://www.macrumors.com/how-to/remove-tracking-information-urls-safari/
Kuro ( @Kuro@lemm.ee ) English9•5 months agoCopy without tracking has been hit or miss for me on Firefox
Mario_Dies.wav ( @LinkOpensChest_wav@lemmy.dbzer0.com ) 10•5 months agoI just gave up and went back to using ClearURLs add-on. Nothing else seems to work as reliably, not even adding rules to uBO.
Aatube ( @Aatube@kbin.social ) 1•5 months agoI don’t use ClearURLs because it breaks some websites and doesn’t implement a blacklist
Mario_Dies.wav ( @LinkOpensChest_wav@lemmy.dbzer0.com ) 1•5 months agoReally? I haven’t had it break anything at all.
Walop ( @Walop@sopuli.xyz ) English34•5 months agoI like using Firefox, but it’s a bit ironic to have google analytics tracking on the page you declare to protect the users privacy.
unalivejoy ( @joyjoy@lemm.ee ) English13•5 months agoThey never claimed firefox.com was privacy focused. Only your browser.
CynicusRex ( @CynicusRex@kbin.social ) 17•5 months agoConveniently excluding Vivaldi browser.
lud ( @lud@lemm.ee ) 33•5 months agoThey included the biggest browsers. They don’t need to include every single browser in existence.
Wiz ( @Wiz@midwest.social ) English6•5 months agoYouch, that’s just mean!
1984 ( @1984@lemmy.today ) 15•5 months agoI didn’t get that but I guess because I have a plugin to give me nice backgrounds on new tabs.
But yeah, shots fired. Nice!
The only issue is that only already existing Firefox users see this, and we already know this.
TeaEarlGrayHot ( @TeaEarlGrayHot@lemmy.ca ) English5•5 months agoTabbliss represent
chriscz ( @chriscz@iusearchlinux.fyi ) 2•5 months agoYassssss
stebo ( @stebo02@lemmy.dbzer0.com ) 1•5 months agoi probably had it but closed the tab before it loaded
sarmale ( @sarmale@lemmy.zip ) 11•5 months agoEvery brother has one of these on their site, and somehow that browser always wins
Possibly linux ( @possiblylinux127@lemmy.zip ) English2•5 months agoSo does Simplex Chat.
Foçalors ( @focalors@lemm.ee ) English1•5 months agoIf only Firefox on Android doesn’t refresh the pages every time I switch to another app and back to Firefox (and even showing only black screen), just to input 2FA code or card detail. It becomes really annoying.
The desktop browser is pretty fine though.
MP3Martin ( @MP3Martin@programming.dev ) 2•5 months agoAndroid is really aggressive with killing background apps
